Subaru has added improved safety functions and new convenience features to its refreshed Forester e-Boxer SUV range.

New safety equipment includes the fourth-generation EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which has almost doubled its field of view and is available with 11 safety functions.

These include automatic emergency steering, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, and lane departure prevention.

The pre-collision braking system offers expanded support for collision avoidance at intersections.

Subaru’s facial recognition technology which alerts the driver of fatigue or distractions, as well as automatically adjusting driver settings for seat position, door mirror angles and air conditioning preferences, now features a gesture control function for climate control.

The MY2022 Forester’s e-Boxer powertrain incorporates a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor with a customised Lineartronic transmission, and adjusts how they are used to match the driving condition.

It changes between engine driving, EV driving and motor assist.

It is also available with an eight-inch screen navigation compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Forester model range, which was originally launched 25 years ago, has so far sold more than 357,000 units in Europe.
