BMW has unveiled the updated i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe, which will be available in the UK from July.

Minor changes have been made to the car's bumpers to benefit aerodynamics, while the grille and headlights have also been revised.

There are two new colours - Cape York Green metallic and Fire Red metallic - and fresh alloy wheel designs available.

On the inside, there's a new steering wheel and some small tweaks to the switchgear and central air vent.

The redesigned headlights use new LED technology. Adaptive LED lights are optionally available and, if specified, come with BMW's Laser rear lights.

The upgraded BMW iDrive with QuickSelect enables a further reduction in the number of buttons and controls in the cockpit. The functions of the automatic climate control system and – if fitted – seat and steering wheel heating can now be operated by touch via the BMW Curved Display or by voice command with the help of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

New adjustment controls for the air vent grilles in the centre of the instrument panel and on the driver’s and front passenger side of the cockpit allow the airflow direction to be adjusted using rotating and tilting movements.

BMW has retained the existing powertrain and trim level line-up for the new i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe.

Pricing starts at £43,830 for the 420i, with the BMW i4 eDrive35 starting at £50,365.

The 4 Series Gran Coupe is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine (420i) or a 3.0-litre in-line six cylinder petrol engine (M440i).

The i4 can be had in eDrive35 or eDrive40 guise, as well as M50.
