This year’s Fleet & Mobility Live will feature a special Tomorrow's Fleet area, sponsored by Novuna Vehicle Solutions, that showcases some of the latest innovations that will shape the future of fleet and logistics.

This includes hydrogen vans, electric commercial vehicles, solar last mile delivery vehicles and charging solutions.

The two day event, brought to you by Fleet News, is being held on October 3 & 4 at the NEC, near Birmingham.

The show is free for fleet decision makers to attend and delegates will gain access to the Tomorrow’s Fleet area of the exhibition, as well as over 80 innovative suppliers from the wider fleet and mobility industry.

Liam James, Novuna Vehicle Solutions manager, corporate sales team, said: “We’ve been supporting business to transition their fleet to electric for some time now. Where we find there is still a challenge is for businesses, especially mission critical, to viably transition their commercial fleets.

“We’re pioneering solutions for those businesses, adopting technologies and alternative fuels, driving the change through all asset types, from cars and vans, to heavy goods and plant vehicles.

“Supporting Tomorrow’s Fleet is important to show we’re leading the way when it comes to planning for tomorrow to help fleets of all shapes and sizes make that transition to zero emissions.”

In addition to Tomorrow’s Fleet, there will be over 70 exhibitors at the show, as well as three seminar theatres covering topics on fleet operations, strategy, electric vehicles, taxation and fleet finance and benefits.

Novuna Vehicle Solutions

There will be two bikes that power two light towers by pedal power on the Novuna stand. Delegates will be challenged to race each other to be the first to light their tower and win! Players can reach up to 400-450 watts when really going for it and the display can be switched from the time element to show the power being inputted from the user. It’s a fun way of showing how fleets can power their own electrification future and race the clock to get to net zero.

The Novuna team will be on stand to showcase how they are helping fleets to transition to zero emissions across all vehicle types, including sharing details of the company's new EV Forecourt at its Trowbridge site. The site demonstrates the Novuna decarbonisation proposition, from assessment and installation, battery storage and renewable energy to the new My Novuna Charging Charge Point Management System and driver app.

First Hydrogen

First Hydrogen will showcase its demonstrator hydrogen van that is currently on UK fleet trials in the UK with SSE and Rivus.

These fleet trials will help establish more detail on the whole life running costs for hydrogen vehicles, which offer an alternative zero emission technology for the logistics and delivery industry.

The company’s inaugural vehicles can achieve a 400-600km (250-370m) range on a single fuelling which takes around five minutes. The team at First Hydrogen will also be able to speak about the company’s next generation hydrogen vehicles that will launch in the coming years.

OnCharge

OnCharge van charging

OnCharge will be demonstrating its solution for overnight van charging for those without home charging capability.

It offers a 50kWh battery powerpack that gets collected from a hub at the end of the day and plugged into the van which is charged outside the house overnight at 7kW. The pack then gets dropped off in the morning (and gets recharged).

DPD is already trialling the system.

Charging an electric van overnight is the most productive time to do it, as it minimises downtime, but it is estimated around 70% of fleet van drivers are unable to do this.

OnCharge Energy believes its take-home powerbank could revolutionise commercial EV fleet management and help encourage more drivers to switch to EVs.

Kerbo Charge

Kerbo Charge channel

Kerbo Charge is looking to help company car drivers access the benefits of a smart home charger even if they don’t have access to off-street parking.

The business is already working with Milton Keynes City Council to install safe cable runs from locations like terraced houses so drivers can plug-in just outside their house, without obstructing pedestrians. Kerbo Charge handles all the local authority approvals as part of its service offering. This solution is one of a mix that will help make sure all drivers can make the switch to EV, alongside lower cost destination public charging infrastructure and community home charger sharing.
