Lodge Tyre Co has welcomed its 100th VW Crafter van, following its most recent fleet acquisition.

The latest batch of Crafters to join the company’s fleet take its total to 105.

VW has supplied the business with vehicles since 2019, they feature specialized air compressors as well as customized racking and livery,

Andy Wills, group fleet manager for Lodge Tyre Co, said: “Since we bought our first fleet of Volkswagen vans in 2019, the vans have coped with everything we have thrown at them and managed the workload extremely well. With competitive pricing, bespoke conversions and such a strong aftersales offering, it has been an easy decision to bolster our fleet with more Crafters.”

Lodge Tyre Co Ltd. is a family-owned company that specialises in 24/7 breakdown cover and is the largest independent commercial tyre supplier network in the UK. It offers a mobile service to ensure vans and trucks are kept on the road all year round.

The Volkswagen Crafters were chosen due to their competitive pricing, large load space and the ability to add the specialised air compressor conversion onto the engine. The Crafter offers a load volume ranging from 9.3-18.4 cubic metres, provides a basis for tailored conversions to fit a range of business needs.

Claire English, head of fleet for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, added: “We are delighted that Lodge Tyre Co has bolstered its fleet with yet more Crafters. The award-winning Crafter is an excellent workhorse for businesses across the UK and the bespoke air compressor conversion for these vans sets them apart from the rest.

“As a brand, we take great pride in our comprehensive aftersales offering so we are very pleased to hear that this was a determining factor in the decision, too. We look forward to continuing to work with the business and deliver reliable vans.”

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles extended its opening hours in 2017 across its network of Van Centres, delivering on its Working With You brand promise. This offers much more flexibility to customers and significantly minimises downtime by accommodating owners’ needs depending on business requirements.
