Roger Alm has been appointed as the new president of Volvo Trucks and as a new member of Volvo’s Group executive board.

He will replace Claes Nilsson, who will retire from January 1, 2019.

Alm began his career at Volvo Trucks in 1989 and brings extensive experience from almost 30 years with Volvo, from product development to service, parts, sales and general management.

He has extensive experience from working many senior positions in Slovenia and Croatia, Poland and Australia before spending five years as president for Volvo Trucks in Latin America. Since 2016, he has held the position as senior vice president, Volvo Trucks Europe.

In his new position, Alm will be part of Volvo Group executive board and will report to Martin Lundstedt, president and CEO of the Volvo Group. He said: "Roger's substantial contribution to Volvo over the years makes me fully confident that Volvo Trucks will continue to develop greatly and deliver continuous solid performances.”

Alm said: "I am very proud to get this opportunity to lead Volvo Trucks further into the future, working together with our strong teams to serve our customers with the best products and services.

"We have built a strong foundation and I look forward to working together with colleagues, dealers and customers to deliver a continous strong performance."

Nilsson has been the president of Volvo Trucks since March 2016.
