The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has presented Aldi Stores with a Roadworthiness Award 2016, in recognition of high standards in maintenance of its fleet of vehicles and trailers. 

The award was presented at the CV Show - NEC Birmingham today by FTA's Chief Executive David Wells, where Aldi Stores Ltd Bathgate Distribution Centre was congratulated on the hard work carried out to maintain such high standards and in controlling driver related defects.

The prestigious Roadworthiness Awards highlight the efforts of FTA members who keep their fleets safe, legal and efficient, recognise the high standards of vehicle safety, condition and maintenance standards in the UK.

David Wells, FTA chief executive said: “On behalf of FTA I am delighted to have presented the prestigious Roadworthiness Awards to Aldi Stores Bathgate Distribution Centre in recognition of the excellent standards they have in vehicle safety, and the work carried out to maintain compliance.  This Award reflects the high standards of the Group, and I would like to congratulate all involved for the efforts they obviously make to ensure that their fleet is safe, legal and efficient at all times.”

FTA's Roadworthiness Awards highlight its members' efforts in keeping their fleets safe, legal and efficient, and are designed to encourage and reward high standards of compliance with vehicle condition legislation.

On receiving the Award - Logistics Director at ALDI Atherstone - Andy Gillies said: “Aldi Stores is delighted to receive the prestigious FTA Roadworthiness Award.  We are incredibly proud of the high standards we maintain throughout our fleet, and as safety is a high priority throughout our work, this award can be attributed to everyone in our high quality workforce and recognises the exceptional contribution they make to maintain our excellent safety record.”
