Red Driver Training is aiming to help drivers kick-start a career in the logistics industry with the launch of its HGV training and licence acquisition service.

Held at its specialist driver training centre at Donington, which includes a diverse fleet of HGVs, the course gives prospective HGV drivers the opportunity to learn in real-world environments under the guidance of professionals through hands-on training.

Seb Goldin, CEO of Red Driver Training said: “Not only are HGV drivers in great demand, but this is a specialist skill that can present many options for UK motorists from a commercial perspective, which can provide flexibility for drivers looking to earn some extra income or diversify their careers.

“Due to the consistent demand for transportation of perishable, high value, medical and consumer goods, HGV drivers can typically earn wages between £35,000 and £50,000.

“We’re really proud to be delivering this service, and as one of the leading driving instructor training businesses, we look forward to sharing our expertise in this new capacity.”

The specialist HGV training programme is tailormade for the individual’s specialist requirements with courses to suit all licence acquisition requirements including CAT C1 7.5 Tonne, CAT C1+E, CAT C (Class 2) Rigid or CAT CE (Class 1).

Red Driver Training is also delivering specialist HGV medical training which is mandatory for anyone wishing to gain and hold an HGV drivers’ licence, as well as the HGV theory test.
