Truck manufacturer Daf has announced that Ron Borsboom, executive director global powertrain development, has died.

Having spent more than 20 years with the company, Boorsboom was a member of the Daf Board of Management.

Daf said it was “deeply saddened” by the news. “Ron joined the company over twenty years ago and as a member of the Daf Board of Management he led the Product Development department with great skill and passion,” a spokesman said.

“His capabilities and dedication made an outstanding contribution to the success of Daf, including his leadership in creating the new generation of Daf trucks.

“Ron’s death is a source of great sadness to us all. We have lost a good friend who was a wonderful man and leader.”

He continued: “On behalf of the staff, board members at Daf Trucks NV, Daf UK and everyone at PACCAR, our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and children, and we wish them great strength in the coming period.”
