Andy Smith appointed head of sales at DriverCheck

Andy Smith has been appointed as the new head of sales at DriverCheck, reporting into group chief executive officers (CEOs), Robert Pilkington and Craig Gibbin at parent company, Ebbon Group.

Smith has been with the Ebbon Group for six years and was previously account manager – logistics with responsibility for Ebbon Automotive’s moDel delivery solution.

Pilkington said: “We are delighted to announce Andy Smith as the new head of sales at our DriverCheck business. His promotion is the last piece in the jigsaw at DriverCheck, which will allow us to continue to expand and develop the business in our chosen areas.”

His appointment is the latest in a series of new announcements at DriverCheck, which for all, but new business sales, is being led by recently appointed head of operations, Yvette Giannini.

CBVC Vehicle Management appoints new head of sales

CBVC Vehicle Management has appointed Mark Roberts to the newly created role of head of sales.

Roberts will be heading up the sales operation for CBVC Vehicle Management’s fleet management and salary sacrifice operations, working with Ryan Spencer, head of salary sacrifice.

Roberts joins CBVC Vehicle Management from Fleet Alliance where he was salary sacrifice product manager. He brings more than 20 years of motor trade experience to the business including roles at Zenith and Alphabet.

Mike Manners, managing director (MD) of CBVC Vehicle Management said: "He (Mark) brings a wealth of experience to the role and his appointment is absolutely pivotal to achieving our ambitious growth plans.”

The latest hire is part of the ongoing business expansion. Emma Reed also recently joined the CBVC Vehicle Management team within the dedicated salary sacrifice division.

New sales and customer services director to lead WMS Opteven

Andrew Waite joins WMS Opteven as new retail sales and customer services director.

He joins WMS Opteven with almost three decades worth of experience in the automotive industry, having worked for OEMs throughout his career, including Hyundai, Ford and Volkswagen Group.

At the latter he spent 18 years working across multiple departments including fleet, sales operations, and product marketing. In addition to this, he spent four years as sales director for VW Commercial Vehicles, with responsibility for all sales activities and functions.

Craig Grant, MD at Opteven UK, added: “We’re going through an incredibly exhilarating time within the business as we maximise the financial backing and wealth of experience from Opteven Group to input our market-leading products into larger franchise dealers and OEMs.

“Our new Obligor (DTI), product to be launched in February is ideally suited to the needs of independent and franchised dealer groups.

Infinium Logistics hires head of clean energy

Infinium Logistics has hired Chris Curry as head of EV and Energy.

Curry joins the company from Bryt Energy, a zero renewable electricity supplier, where he was head of energy transition.

As head of EV and Energy, Curry is responsible for developing and delivering Infinium’s overall energy and EV charging strategy, including power connectivity, storage and generation, and technology and product development.

Curry has previously held roles at British Renewables, Forward Utility and Omnio Energy.
