The winners of the 2022 Amazon Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards have been announced.

The awards, supported by Fleet News, celebrated 16 individuals working in the transport and logistics sector, championing their achievements, and showcasing them as inspiring role models to the next generation of female talent.

The awards recognised two winners per category: one industry ‘Leader’ and one individual going ‘Above and Beyond’ for their business, as well as one recipient for each of the Industry Champion, Male Agent of Change and Apprentice of the Year Awards.

Varsha Ghetia, transport operations manager at Wincanton, claimed the Supply Chain Leader Award, while Tracy Halliday, supply chain ordnance warrant officer at Ministry of Defence (MoD), was awarded the Supply Chain Above and Beyond Award.

The Freight Leader Award was presented to Fiona Dempster, head of logistics at PG Paper Company and Cheralyn Roden, marketing coordinator at Moody Logistics and Storage, scooped the Freight Above and Beyond Award.

The winners not only make positive contributions to the businesses which they work, but also encourage other women to achieve success by supporting and mentoring young female talent, Everywoman said.

Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of Everywoman, said: “We are delighted to announce the winners of the 2022 Amazon Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

“Our winners embody the passion, dedication, skills, and leadership that are making transport and logistics both dynamic and resilient.

“We are thrilled to be able to shine a spotlight on these inspirational role models that have risen to the challenge and kept the country moving in persistently difficult times.”

The 2022 Woman of the Year Award was presented to Faye Calland, senior manager – same day operations at FedEx, a position she has held since 2015.
