Barnes (pictured) will work across both CD Auction, which remarkets ex-fleet vehicles from corporates, leasing companies and rental companies and CD Salvage Auction, which remarkets total loss salvage, accident damage-repairable, and vehicles with mechanical failure.

He will be responsible for increasing the buyer base; developing the business’s customer concentric ethos; keeping registered buyers abreast with new developments, developing the buyer base and ensuring application, registration and approval process for new buyers is as smooth as possible.

Barnes said: “CD Auction Group team, especially in recent times, has grown rapidly with its customer-focused approach.

"Throughout my career I have honed my skills in customer service, business development, leadership and creativity, and will continue to do so at CD Auction Group.

“What appealed to me was the scope to further develop the role and I am looking forward to increasing the buyer base and the number of vendors the business works with.”

Barnes began as a mechanical apprentice before climbing the career ladder with roles within the MoD, CD Bramalls and Pilling Motor Group. He’s also had senior manager roles at Tesco Cars and Copart where he was general manager.

CD Auction Group’s managing director Andy Brown said: “Paul brings great knowledge and expertise to the role and has a proven record of success in vehicle remarketing.

"Covering both CD Auction and CD Salvage, I believe he’ll be able to ensure we develop our buyer base as we grow our vendor base and business volumes offering a great selection of vehicles - both clean and salvage – to our buyer base.

“These are exciting times for us, and our ever-expanding business needs people like Paul to continue our development. This is an important step in delivering the very best service to all our customers.”
