Smarter Asset Management (SAM), formerly Smart Asset Manager, has appointed Paul Holmes as its new managing director following a company rebrand.

The company has undergone a management re-organisation following “significant investment” and the signing of a new global contract with Menzies Aviation.

The new contract with Menzies Aviation was awarded after more than twelve months of robust testing in the UK and will see Smarter Asset Management’s Gen3 Telematics solution rolled out to airports globally.

Holmes (pictured) said: “We have proved that both vehicle fleets and site-based operators value the attention to detail and level of service provided by this business and our SAM Gen3 system. This rebrand respects our background and looks forward to future growth and development.”

The solution has reportedly already facilitated the streamlining of Menzies’ leased asset portfolio, immediately realizing cost and operational benefits.

Menzies Aviation’s senior vice president of systems and transformation Steve Rick said: “The capabilities we have developed with SAM in their telemetry platform has unlocked tremendous value in our business, working closely with the SAM team we believe we have genuinely selected a premium supply partner with a technology platform that delivers results fast helping us to deliver our excellence manifesto to become the undisputed premium brand in the aviation sector.”

“We want to thank Menzies for giving SAM this great opportunity,” said Holmes.

“I would like to thank the dedicated SAM development team led by Stewart Hall (technical director) for all their hard work in developing our Gen3 product to provide Menzies with the airport-specific system that has allowed us to win this business.

"Our fleet customers will also benefit from what we have learnt about the way asset usage is reported in airport operations.”
