Thrifty has “strengthened its senior team” with a management reshuffle, with the appointment of Martin Wilson as its new managing director.

Former managing director Roger Hancock (pictured) will assume the role of chairman, taking over from Nigel Spokes who will become a non-executive director, while remaining the principal shareholder.

Martin Wilson, currently sales director of Hyundai Motor UK, will join the business on January 1, 2018, as managing director, reporting directly to Hancock.

Hancock said: “The business is growing exponentially and we have taken this opportunity to further develop and strengthen our senior management team by bringing Martin on board.

“Martin brings a wealth of sales and operational experience with him which fits strategically with our continued expansion.

“He will be supported by myself and our hugely experienced senior management team comprising Peter Granados, Alison Chadwick, Caroline Gallagher, Linda Malliff, Elliot Scott and Steve Sandford.”
