Honda UK’s new head of fleet sales is aiming to build on the manufacturer’s recent success in the corporate market by delivering a revitalised fleet programme.

Marc Samuel was recently appointed fleet sales operations manager; a role which has been created to help shape Honda’s renewed focus on the sector and further promote its recently relaunched range of cars, and dedicated fleet and corporate service.

The renewed activity is the result of a major strategic review, which identified key opportunities including the recent relaunch of its Platinum Programme for corporate customers.

The Platinum Programme includes in-depth training for all dealer principals, sales managers and sales advisors so they thoroughly understand the bespoke needs and wants of fleet and corporate customers.

Samuel, whose previous job was as Honda’s national sales manager, has an impressive track record in the fleet industry, with more than 10 years’ experience working in the fleet automotive sector.

He said: “My immediate focus is to lead our fleet and corporate team and to build on the initial success of our relaunched Platinum Programme.

“What’s more, I’m confident we have a great range of cars for fleet customers and the programme will help them understand fully how Honda vehicles can best support their business.

“The addition of the all-new Civic only further enhances the offering we have for our corporate clients, especially given the immensely positive media feedback the car received following its recent global launch.”

Samuel’s appointment comes at a key time, as Honda has already started to significantly ramp up its fleet presence as it powers into the new fiscal year.

Phil Webb, head of cars at Honda UK, said: “We absolutely want to exceed expectations in the corporate world and ensure that we work with our dedicated dealer network to provide the best in customer service, as people expect of Honda.

“With Samuel’s appointment, we’re confident our new focus and team set-up will execute our long-term vision of sustainable and steady growth.”
