Great Wall Motors (GWM) has appointed Peter Vardy as the first dealer for its new Ora electric car brand.

The Ora Funky Cat will go on sale in November, with the first models arriving in the UK in early 2023.

Toby Marshall, sales and marketing director, GWM Ora UK, said: “The appointment of our first official retailer is a huge milestone for the GWM Ora brand. I look forward to working closely with the team at Peter Vardy as we navigate our launch phase and continue to develop our retailer network across the country.”

A series of retailer announcement are expected over the coming weeks as the new brand establishes a dealer network.

While there will be a big focus on physical retailers, Ora products will also be available to purchase through an online sales platform which allows vehicles to be delivered to a customer’s home or work address. ORA Online will be launched prior to UK order books opening, which is planned to take place in November this year.

The Ora Funky Cat is priced at £30,495. Initially a single Launch Edition model will be offered, followed by an expanded line-up in 2023.

It uses a 48kWh battery, offering a WLTP range of 193 miles.

The vehicle will come equipped with a high standard specification including; Adaptive Cruise Control, 360-degree cameras, LED Headlights and 18” Alloy Wheels.
