Vauxhall has unveiled its Vivaro Life MPV, which will offer up to nine seats and go on sale in February.

The vehicle, which will make its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show on January 18, will be available in two lengths: the 4.95m ‘medium’ and 5.30m ‘large’.

Both lengths will be available with a variety of seating configurations, up to a maximum of nine seats.

A purely electric version will be offered in early 2021, says Vauxhall.

Four, seven or eight seat configurations will be available with leather seats, while five, six, eight or nine-seat configurations are available for cloth trim.

Removing the seats raises the total cargo capacity up to 3,397 litres, while users can also fold down the front passenger seat, allowing objects up to 3.5m in length to be carried.

Lounge trim provides front seats with massage and electric heating, two movable leather chairs behind, each with a 48cm wide seat cushion, which means that passengers can sit facing each other. A movable table also folds away to provide additional storage space.

Vivaro Life also features a number of driver assistance systems. A camera and radar monitor the area in front of the vehicle, and its autonomous emergency braking system is able to detect pedestrians.

It also features adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, driver drowsiness alert, high-beam assist.

Also available is a head-up display that shows speed, distance to the preceding vehicle and navigation, parking sensors and a rear view camera.

During the course of 2019, Vivaro Life will also offer the Vauxhall Connect telematics service as standard.

The interior features a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Multimedia and Multimedia Navi infotainment.

Both systems feature phone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Vivaro Life, which is based on Groupe PSA’s EMP2 platform, will be built at the company’s Luton plant, helping to secure 1,250 jobs.

It is part of Vauxhall’s PACE! strategic plan, which will see the brand launch a total of eight new or refreshed models by the end of 2020, the, including the next-generation Corsa.
