Mercedes-Benz has added two new diesel engines to the A-Class range: the A 200 d and the A 220 d.

The new units have been tested to RDE-2 standards, meaning company car drivers will benefit from tax savings due to the removal of the four per cent BIK diesel surcharge for the life of the vehicle.

These engines will also feature in the new B-Class.

With p11d prices starting from £28,805 for the A 200 d Sport, drivers can expect to pay from £110 per month in company car tax (20% taxpayer).

The A 200 d has an output of 150PS and 320Nm of torque. It delivers up to 67.3mpg on the combined cycle and emits 110g/km of CO2.

Acceleration from zero to 62mph takes 8.1 seconds.

The A 220 d produces 190PS and 400Nm of torque.  It can achieve 65.7mpg on the combined cycle and emits 114g/km of CO2. It can travel from zero to 62mph in seven seconds and has a top speed of 146mph. 

Both engines come standard with an 8G-DCT 8-Speed automatic transmission.

The A 200 d is available in two trims: Sport and AMG Line, while the A 220 d is only available in the AMG Line trim.

The Sport trim line comes as standard with: MBUX multimedia system with ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice activation, seven-inch cockpit display and seven-inch touchscreen media display, reversing camera, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, comfort suspension, DAB, Keyless-Go starting function, automatic two-zone climate control and LED headlights and tail lamps.

AMG Line versions feature 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, diamond radiator grille, AMG bodystyling, Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery and three-spoke sports steering wheel.

The new versions are available to order with deliveries in Spring.
