Kinto UK have secured a four-year deal with Government Facilities Services (GFSL), part of the Ministry of Justice (MoD) to update its fleet of cars, light commercial vehicles (LVCs) and heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).

In 2020 GFSL, who provide facility maintenance services to prisons across the South of England, went to market to overhaul their fleet.

Having historically used daily rental vehicles, the company said a cost exercise was carried out with several leasing providers to look at the benefits, as well as savings, to using a full fleet management and leasing provision over daily rental.

Paul Moon, public sector development manager at Kinto UK, took part in the exercise and provided GFSL a full fleet review and bespoke vehicle recommendation lists based on its specific requirements, said the company.

Moon said: “I am delighted to be working with GFSL on the delivery of their new fleet, it has been a pleasure to complete the exercise to ensure the fleet is fit for purpose and delivers not only on cost but each vehicle role and requirements.

“We have also begun to look at how GFSL can introduce electric vehicles into their fleet, supporting them on their aspirations to reduce carbon output.”

Inchcape Fleet Solutions (IFS) rebranded as Kinto, the mobility brand launched by Toyota in 2020.

The division partnered with Fleetondemand last year to offer a business Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solution for UK fleets.

Stephen Carter, commercial manager at GSFL, said the approach Kinto delivered was “true collaboration”.

Carter added: “The knowledge and support provided by Paul Moon and his wider team was outstanding and their proposal demonstrated value for money which resulted in a compliant GFSL contract being awarded.

“GFSL are very much looking forward to working with Kinto to roll out the new fleet and developing our relationship.”

Jennifer Davis, sales director at Kinto UK, said the company was “extremely proud” to have been awarded the contract by GFSL.

She said: “The public sector is a hugely important area of business for us, and the award highlights our proven expertise within the public and not-for-profit sectors- something we are immensely pleased to have built up over many years now.

“Knowing we will be helping GFSL procure and operate a cost-effective fleet thanks to the wonderful consultative work by our team is very satisfying.

"We look forward to working closely with the GFSL moving forward.”
