Vans In Action will be returning to Company Car in Action (CCIA) 2023 following the success of last year’s feature.

Hosted by ‘electric van man’ Paul Kirby, director of EV Essentials, the list of 17 vans includes some UK first drives for fleet operators plus some manufacturers making their debut at CCIA.

Fleets considering options for last-mile distribution will have an exclusive chance to test the new My Electric Vehicle (MEV) Cargo and Pick-up electric vans.

This will be the first time these vehicles are available for testing in the UK. Both have 10kWh Lithium batteries giving range of up to 90 miles and maximum speed of 50mph.

These two-seaters have curb weight of just 639kg with payload of 300kg.

Kirby said: “I’m excited to be celebrating the acceleration of electric fleet vans at Vans In Action. We will also be demonstrating the growing infrastructure that is there to support the increasing numbers of electric vans on the road.”

Also available for test driving from the Vans In Action stand will be a quartet of Stellantis vans: Fiat e-Ducato, Vauxhall Vivaro-e (Fleet News medium size electric van of the year), Peugeot e-Expert and Citroen e-Berlingo.

DFSK will be making its debut at CCIA, with driving opportunities in the EC35 panel van, which offers up to 166 miles of range from its 35kWh battery (charging from empty to full in 90 minutes), plus a static display of the EC35 crew van.

Fleets will also be able to get behind the wheel of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo, the Mercedes-Benz e-Vito, Maxus e-Deliver 3 and e-Deliver 9 and Renault Kangoo E-Tech.

Iveco will show its new eDaily as a static display, while converter Bott will be bringing a Vauxhall Vivaro-e and Goupil’s ultra-compact G2 as demonstrators for its racking and ancillary equipment.

Kirby will also be speaking at seminar sessions on both days focusing on 'Electric vehicle (EV) charging pitfalls to avoid', which will provide advice and guidance on EV charging policies, to help fleet managers through the process.
