IVECO has secured a conquest deal with Hargreaves Industrial Services. Its overnight capabilities has ensured it will send 12 new 44-tonne Stralis Hi-Road tractor units per the agreement.

North East Truck & Van (NETV) delivered the new arrivals into a 24-strong heavy truck fleet to the company, with the Stralis’ to be used for specialist tipping work across Humberside.

They become the first IVECOs operated by the customer, which now has a 100 per cent IVECO artic tipper fleet.

Each Stralis Hi-Road 6x2 (AT440S46TX/P) is powered by an 11.1-litre Cursor 11 diesel engine delivering up to 460hp and 2,150 Nm of torque – driven through a 12-speed automated gearbox. They will operate with tri-axle Weightlifter tipping trailers.

Trevor Holland, warehouse and distribution manager at Hargreaves Industrial Services, said: “Reducing downtime is critical for our work, so being able to benefit from an IVECO dealership which is open 24 hours a day during the week, and right on our doorstep, sealed the deal.

“Our drivers can now drop the trucks off in the evening, trusting fully that the team at NETV will have them ready to pick-up the next morning.

“The team were extremely helpful from start to finish.

“They understood how important it is for our trucks to be on the road when we need them most, and tailored the deal to include scheduled overnight maintenance.

“We also looked very carefully at the spec of the Stralis Hi-Road and have full trust in it to deliver exactly what we need.”

All maintenance work will be carried out at NETV’s site in Immingham as part of a five-year IVECO Elements repair and maintenance package.

Each truck will travel around 50,000 km a year and will do so until 2024, in which the agreement will come to an end.

Features include an in-cab telephone and automatic rear door release for the tipping trailer, allowing the driver to conduct the unloading process from the safety of the cab.

Specialist on-board weighing equipment has also been added to ensure the trailer is never too heavy.
