Bibby Distribution has appointed Autoglass as its preferred Vehicle Glass Repair and Replacement (VGRR) in a three-year partnership.

The contract was awarded following a competitive tender process and will see Autoglass provide vehicle glass repair and replacement services, including ADAS calibration.

Bibby was reportedly impressed with its quality equipment, improved reporting and best-in-class service. Its fleet of 1,000 vehicles will be maintained through regular fleet checks, wiper replacements and management information.

Bibby Distribution’s head of fleet and procurement, Adam Purshall, said: “Our vehicles are intensively used in logistics operations across the UK, so we needed a glass repair and replacement company we could trust to fix any windscreen issues wherever they are.

“We were impressed by the reliability of Autoglass, and its high level of service will minimise unplanned vehicle downtime. We look forward to developing what will be a strong working relationship.”

Bibby Distribution will deliver vehicle glass across the UK to the 36 combined sites of Autoglass and Laddaw, its wholesale division, through an overnight delivery service.

The partnership is set to deliver significant reductions in vehicle downtime across Bibby’s entire fleet, as well as cost savings.

Autoglass’ national sales manager Jeremy Rochfort said: “Using our total cost of ownership approach, which measures impact across areas like reduction of breakage and improved repair rates, the team were able to demonstrate significant reductions in vehicle downtime and cost savings across Bibby Distribution’s fleet.”

The total cost of ownership approach provided by Autoglass focuses on service levels, reduction of breakage and revisit rate whilst simultaneously improving repair rates.

This offers Bibby Distribution accurate cost and downtime representation for the entire term of the contract.
