Scottish Secure Parking Group survey to evaluate impact on secure HGV parking shortage

A survey released by The Scottish Secure Parking Group (SSPG), is seeking views on secure HGV parking and its impact on haulage and logistics industries.

SPPG is seeking views across the UK, but particularly in Scotland.

Its membership includes FTA, the British International Freight Association, Police Scotland, the Road Haulage Association, the Scottish Business Resilience Centre, and Transport Scotland.

SPPG has created a short survey and hopes to hear from a wide audience, including members of the public, industry including HGV companies, and other interested parties, for example local authorities, government representatives and councillors

It is gathering evidence on whether the current lack of secure parking is impacting on the haulage and logistics industries and what needs to be done to improve the situation.

An element will be around incidents of crime attributable to off-site, insecure parking.

The anonymous online HGV parking survey is open from April 23 until May 25 and will take about 10 minutes to complete.
