Tesla has installed its first V4 Supercharger in the UK, which is designed to be used by electric vehicles from any brand.

The CCS compatible units are equipped with a contactless card payment facility and a three-metre tethered charging cable.

Charging speeds of up to 250kW are possible.

The new chargers are located in Tottenham, at the Tesla Centre on Ravenside Retail Park.

Tesla first opened up its network of Superchargers to drivers of non-Tesla vehicles in May 2022. Drivers had to use the Tesla smartphone app to access the chargers.

The new V4 units accept payment via contactless card, like a conventional public rapid charger.

There are currently more than 1,100 Superchargers in the UK across over 115 locations

Tesla has opened more than 200 Supercharger stalls at 17 different locations across the UK and Ireland this year and are due to open more before the end of 2023.

Several existing supercharger sites and the majority of new sites in 2024 will be upgraded to V4 and open to all EVs.
