Nissan has confirmed pricing for the all-new electric Ariya SUV starts from £43,845.

The new model is capable of up to 329 miles on a single charge and is available in three powertrain configurations.

The entry level model uses a 63kWh battery and has a power output of 218PS. It provides a range of up to 250 miles.

Next up is an 87kWh version with a more powerful 242PS motor. This is the longest range version, offering up to 329 miles.

A performance focussed twin-motor model is also offered, name e-4ORCE. It uses the same 87kWh battery, but has a 306PS power output and all-wheel-drive.

Each powertrain can be specified with one of two trim grades: Advance or Evolve.

The Advance grade includes ProPILOT with Navi-Link, Intelligent Driver Alertness and Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Jam Pilot, Blind Spot Intervention, Intelligent Cruise Control, Full Auto Park, Apple Car Play and 360 degree Around View Monitor. 

The higher spec Evolve grade adds features such as Pro-Pilot Park, Windscreen Heads-up Display, a 10 Bose speaker system, Electric Panoramic Sunroof, power moving centre console, and black upholstery with synthetic leather seats and Ultrasuede inserts.

Cars equipped with the 63kWh battery are fitted with a 7kW on board charger. A 22kW charger can be specified as an option and is standard on 87kWh models. All Ariyas have 130kW DC fast charging capability. Nissan says the Ariya 87kWh can recover up to 217 miles with a 30-minute quick charge using a CCS charging system.

Andrew Humberstone, managing director of Nissan Motor (GB), said that the “cutting-edge” electric vehicle (EV) represents the “confidence and dare-to-do ambition” of the Nissan brand.

“We know that UK customers are going to be seriously impressed with the new standards Ariya will bring to the segment in 2022.”

Csaba Vincze, fleet director at Nissan GB, added: “‘The Ariya is a very attractive proposition for company car drivers and salary sacrifice car schemes and comes complete with Nissan’s ten-year heritage of producing class-leading electric vehicles."

The Ariya's seats, steering wheel and power-sliding centre console are all adjustable based on the driver’s preference. They can be saved in the memory profiles for ease of use, a convenience for multiple drivers. The adjustable console in particular sets the Ariya apart, giving drivers the option to slide the unit to create an adaptable armrest and additional space. It also suits ergonomic preferences around the position of the console-mounted gear selector and nearby controls. 

A pair of 12.3-inch screens ensure important vehicle information – such as battery charge, range and navigation – can be easily accessible. 

Haptic controls have been integrated into the Ariya’s minimalist dashboard to communicate touchpoints with feedback, whilst several principal controls – the volume knob and key steering-wheel buttons, for example – remain physical.

The Ariya is also equipped with a hybrid voice recognition system for handsfree control of key vehicle functions.
