Onto is adding more than 1,000 Renault Zoes and expanding the range of VW electric vehicles (EVs) on its fleet.

The electric car subscription service, which launched in 2017, is experiencing continual growth and increasing customer demand.

It now operates a fleet of more than 4,000 cars, offered on a flexible subscription basis.

The latest influx of new models includes the Renault’s Zoe E-Tech and VW’s ID.3, ID.4 and e-Up!.

Vincent Tourette, managing director of Renault UK, said: “It’s fantastic to see Onto underline its confidence in the Zoe E-Tech with such a significant order. With it being one of Onto’s most popular cars, it’s destined to introduce thousands more drivers to the many benefits of an electric vehicle at an attractive cost, supporting our own strategy to provide customers with affordable and sustainable mobility that offers a fantastic driving experience. We look forward to working with Onto as the Renault E-Tech range continues to grow ever stronger and are exceptionally pleased that the Zoe E-Tech has played a part in the rapid growth of such a relevant and forward-thinking company.”

Nick O’Neill, head of fleet at Volkswagen UK, added: “I’m so excited for this contract with Onto to be fulfilled – not only will this complete a key fleet deal this year, but once the cars are delivered, Onto customers will get to enjoy Volkswagen e-mobility, with countless more seeing the ID. models on our screens again, when Onto’s TV campaign goes live.

“That’s what it’s all about: enabling even more people to see just how good our models are – whether that’s by their use on the Onto fleet by customers who may go on to purchase a Volkswagen electric vehicle of their own, or by giving the models more exposure on UK roads and on TV. Onto’s order, and its high-profile promotion, show just how confident the company is in the e-up!, ID.3 and ID.4.”

Onto also offers the Citroen e-C4, Hyundai Kona Electric and Peugeot e-208 on its platform, among others. Its subscriptions require no deposit and, in return for a monthly payment, encompass the cost of the car, insurance, breakdown cover and maintenance. It even includes the electricity to charge it via RFID cards that provide free access to the BP Pulse, Shell Recharge and Instavolt charging networks with over 12,000 stations in the UK. Core to the appeal of the subscription is that there is no long-term commitment.
