These are unprecedented times for our generation with the Coronavirus causing disruption for every business and individual.

At Fleet News, we’re as prepared as we can be and we’re working hard to keep as close as possible to ‘business as usual’ in these extraordinary times, protecting our business and our service to you, while keeping our people safe.

The team is now working from home and we will continue to produce high quality news and insight across print and website to keep you informed.

The impact on our events

We’ve had to cancel some events: next week’s Fleet200 and our sister Smart Transport conference among them, and others may be looking for a new home on the calendar.

We’re also exploring virtual alternatives and have other contingency plans in place.

It’s times like these when we all pull together. Informed journalism will prevail and the strength of our partnerships with readers and commercial clients will get us through this.

Communication has been interesting.

Like many of you, we’ve gone from the hubbub of the office atmosphere to the tranquillity and solitude of home.

We’re utilising Microsoft Teams, which is proving a revelation in terms of forum-style discussion, document uploading and team video meetings.

We’ve put in place protocols around regular catch ups for the editorial team, partly for planning, partly to protect the mental health and well-being of our people if they feel isolated.

Nevertheless, Covid-19 could provide the push towards home working that so many have advocated in recent years, with obvious environmental and safety benefits from removing cars from the road during the morning and early evening peaks.

Note the massive improvement in air quality in China during its lockdown – lessons for the future, perhaps.

Your magazine - print and digital

We’re considering all options to maintain our service for you.

You will continue to receive print copies of Fleet News – we’re planning content four months ahead for continuity - but for those working from home and unable to collect their office copy, we will be sending out our digital version.

Digital issues of Fleet News.

You can stay up-to-date via this website and sign up to our daily or weekly newsletters.

We will also continue to run webinars giving you insight into key issues as they continue to affect your fleet operations.

All of us at Fleet News are grateful for the support of our readers and our commercial partners during these difficult times, and we remain committed to keeping you informed with our usual supply of first-class content across all channels. Stay safe, everyone.
