Activa Contracts has secured a fleet partnership with Premier League football club Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves), consisting of 26 fully outsourced vehicles.

After a successful mailshot and virtual discussions with Steve Callaghan, area manager at Activa Contracts, Wolves were able to see the benefits that the Milton Keynes-based group could provide.

The award-winning division of the Arnold Clark Group will provide vehicle solutions to both the club and its staff for multiple purposes.

Callaghan said: “The initial carrot was that the club was interested in our Affinity Cars Personal Contract Hire scheme, but it also wanted to know more about our vehicle leasing solutions.

“Wolves wanted to make savings on its vehicle provision and saw the opportunity to capitalise on our knowledge and provide more suitable vehicles than those currently operated.”

Its new fleet will consist of company cars, pool vehicles and commercial vehicles, which will be used by club staff members, coaching staff and young academy players.

Activa Contracts will become a commercial supplier to the club with benefits including the opportunity for employees to obtain match day tickets and further benefits.

Callaghan concluded: “The club liked our consultancy approach and we provided detailed quotes with a focus on cars with low carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and strong residual values, while also taking account of operational requirements.

“The result is that Activa Contracts won the deal on a wholly outsourced basis, effectively becoming Wolverhampton Wanderers’ fleet manager and we already have orders for 23 vehicles.

“Activa Contracts has gone in, put an arm around the club, provided cost-effective solutions, particularly with a focus on carbon footprint reduction and at-work road risk management, and taken away the administration.

“It’s a win-win for both organisations.”
