Edinburgh-based fleet management company Gofor has been appointed to manage a new electric vehicle (EV) salary sacrifice scheme for Penderyn Distillery.

Penderyn Distillery is the home of the Welsh Whisky Company, which produces whiskies and spirits across two sites in the Brecon Beacons. The organisation has a strong sustainability ethos and had already installed free on-site electric vehicle (EV) charging for its staff. The creation of the new salary sacrifice scheme was the logical next step to encourage more employees into electric vehicles.

Stephen Davies, chief executive of Penderyn Distillery, said: “I’m excited that we are partnering with Gofor in bringing this additional benefit to our team – we are committed to encouraging green driving but providing electric charging is only the first step. This salary sacrifice scheme means all our employees can not only personally benefit but help us deliver on our net zero ambition.”

The goal was to make the switch to electric as simple and affordable as possible and remove any early termination risk through vehicle reallocation support. Gofor has already delivered the first EVs to Penderyn under the scheme.

Graham Lesslie, managing director of Gofor, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Penderyn as they move towards a decarbonised fleet. We’ll be working closely with the team to ensure the scheme is fully embedded to encourage further employees to make the switch to an electric vehicle. Salary sacrifice is such a great way of getting an EV at an affordable price. We’re seeing very high demand for the scheme right now.”
