Vehicle movement and inspection firm DMN Logistics has introduced flexi-rates to help fleets reduce costs during the current challenging market conditions.

The company’s core activity is to offer date-specific collection and delivery, but it has added a flexible service, with a discounted rate, that will deliver vehicles within three working days from the point of order.

With this approach, DMN said it can offer a “more flexible, and cost-effective service solution”.

Nick Chadaway, managing director at DMN Logistics, explained: “We have been able to help our customers through an uncertain economic climate, providing them with an incredibly flexible and bespoke long-term logistics solution.

“The pandemic allowed us to re-examine our own operation and we were able to prune where possible and free up resources for the key areas of focus – such as digitisation and innovation – and invest more to support our key capabilities and value propositions. As a result, we have been able to cut costs to grow stronger.”

Vehicle collection and delivery generally works to set dates and times. The flexi-rates allow businesses to be more flexible with deliveries and manage them in a timely manner that better suits their business needs.

Chadaway added: “Our flexible rates offer more choice for dealers and fleets. Choosing to have vehicles delivered using this service allows us to maximise the productivity of our resources and so we are looking to pass on these savings to our clients which can be as much as a 10% reduction in the cost of the movement.

“However, if a dealer, for example, purchased a car with a customer in mind to sell to quickly, the dealer can request an earlier delivery and a quicker turnaround to improve their cash flow. Getting vehicles to their destination at the most pivotal time for each business is our main priority.”
