Fleet Evolution is offering a helping hand to new business start-ups and SMEs by providing access to rates and facilities that would often be out of reach due to limited financial information.

Having been a new business start-up itself no more than eight years ago, the Tamworth-based company specialises in providing fleet management and car benefits schemes to small-to-medium sized enterprises, and says it fully understands the problems involved in setting up a new business.

These can include a lack of corporate discounts due to insufficient financial accounting information, not being granted business account status as a result, and often having to pay retail rates for vital pieces of equipment such as cars, vans, and office furniture and IT equipment.

At the same time, sourcing vehicles to provide mobility for the new start-up to deliver goods to customers or mobilise its sales force can be a major issue, due to the lack of financial history of the new business.

As a result, Fleet Evolution is now offering corporate rates to new businesses for all their vehicle needs and aims to provide a one-stop shop in terms of fleet management and employee mobility to new start-ups.

This includes offering a number of fleet management services that small businesses may not normally be able to access, such as designing legally-compliant and environmentally-sound fleet policies; identifying relevant vehicles for the business, both cars and vans; providing both long and short term vehicles at competitive, corporate rates; carrying out licence checks on employees; and handling mileage claims.

Risk management services can include sourcing appropriate insurance policies for smaller companies who may struggle to find partners in the early days; and carrying out risk assessments on the new business start-up’s activities.

Andrew Leech, managing director of Fleet Evolution (pictured), said: “When you start a small company it’s an exciting time with every day seeming to bring new challenges and opportunities, and small businesses need a very sharp focus to react to them.

“What you don’t need are headaches, distractions and limitations, especially when it comes to something as fundamental as ordering new business assets, mobilising a sales force or simply delivering your products out to customers.”
