The director responsible one of the most successful fleet procurement initiatives of the decade will speak at Fleet Live on October 10.

Joanne Osborne, director of procurement for Yorkshire & Humber Police Forces, combined the purchasing power of four forces to deliver substantial savings.

The ambitious programme involved establishing a standardised approach to fleet purchasing by bringing together 22 fleet managers to create a governance board of fleet representatives.

They agreed the shortlist of vehicle models and equipment, which enabled the joint forces to issue an attractive tender for suppliers.

Osbourne will be sharing her expertise and experience with delegates at FleetLive, a two-day expo that fleet industry members would be foolish to miss.

This unmissable event for fleet decision makers will have more than 15 expert speakers discussing the most pressing industry issues. The full agenda is available to download online

The four police forces within Yorkshire and the Humber spend about £200 million per annum on the procurement of goods, services and works, and Osborne’s team is responsible for delivering best value for money and increasing sustainability.

As a procurement specialist, rather than a fleet manager, Osborne will give a valuable insight into how purchasing departments achieve best value both in the acquisition of goods and services and in the long-term management of contracts.

FleetLive registration is now open and free to fleet decision makers
