Auto Windscreens has reduced its rates for recalibrating the sensors used in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) by 12%.

ADAS technology is becoming increasingly common on new cars and many systems, such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) rely on sensors positioned behind the windscreen.

This means that when a windscreen is replaced, the sensors need to be recalibrated in order to ensure the safety technology continues to work correctly.

Rupert Armitage (pictured), managing director of Auto Windscreens, said: “From the outset we promised that the recalibration of front-facing cameras would not be used by Auto Windscreens as a revenue stream.

"It has taken us nearly 18 months of collecting data but I am delighted to announce that we are in a position to reduce our rates to all of our insurance and fleet partners.”

The new rates cover every vehicle manufacturer make and model and Auto Windscreens said these will be the cheapest national ADAS camera recalibration rates in the UK.

The business has built partnerships with vehicle manufacturers and dealer networks and uses manufacturer-approved workshops to carry out the work.
