RS Connect Group has supplied Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police with 68 Vauxhall Astra Estates for their new fleet of vehicles.

The project involved fitting all public warning equipment including sirens, light bars and flashing headlights as well as communication devices, radios and satnavs.

After beating off stiff competition and securing the contract, the work took place at the company’s Coleshill base.

Dave Newbold, head of transport services, said: “RS Connect are a local company who, through a competitive tender process, won a contract to deliver a role conversion solution for 68 of our new fleet vehicles.

“The technical requirements of the conversions were agreed and implemented to a high standard, and all of the vehicles were delivered ahead of schedule.”

RS Connect Group has a rich history with the emergency services as they have supported them for more than 20 years.

Noelle Hartless, commercial director for RS Connect Group, said: “Our relationship with the emergency services is very important.

“The police don’t just give out contracts out to people they don’t know. It shows how skilled our engineer base is and the quality of service we provide. You must have a proven track record.”
