Enterprise Rent-A-Car has extended its range of plug-in electric vehicles with its latest addition to the fleet, the Tesla Model S.

The premium all-electric saloon car is now available for rental from Enterprise Rent-A-Car branches nationwide.

The Model S combines safety, performance and efficiency, and boasts features such as a 17-inch internet-enabled touch screen and high-res navigation maps.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car says it offers customers access to one of the lowest emission fleets in the UK. Enterprise purchased 40% of all alternatively fuelled vehicles (AFVs) sold to the car rental industry in 2018, which includes electric plug-in cars and vans and hybrids.

Brendan Grieve, Enterprise’s assistant vice president rental UK and Ireland, said: “We know that many customers are thinking about whether electric vehicles could be right for them, which is why we’ve extended our own EV fleet with this Tesla model.

“It means that in addition to enabling people to rent more low emission vehicles, we can also act as a ‘shop window’ so that people can get to try out something a bit different that they may want to buy later.”

Some branch locations may require a short notice period for reservations, ranging from four hours to one day, to ensure availability.
