To mark the United Nations’ Global Road Safety Week (May 6-12), Brake has announced a free webinar for fleet and road safety professionals on effective leadership.

The webinar, will be held on May 8 and delivered as part of Global Fleet Champions (GFC), a new not-for-profit global campaign to prevent crashes and reduce pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.

Brake’s senior fleet officer Sarah Plumb said: “Good leadership is pivotal in order to ensure fleet safety and sustainability.

“Business leaders have the power to prioritise and manage the safe and sustainable operation of any vehicles they operate and governments have the power to regulate and enforce these safe and sustainable operations. I would urge anyone responsible for at-work drivers to attend this essential webinar.”

The webinar, ‘effective leadership for safe and healthy mobility in fleets’, sponsored by Lytx, will discuss:

  • Why it’s so important to put fleet safety first and the benefits of doing so;
  • What effective leadership looks like;
  • Which measures employers need to introduce for safe and healthy mobility; and
  • How engaging with local communities and lobbying local and national governments can bring about road safety change.

Lytx’s vice president of international markets Bill Ruff said: “When fleets concentrate on driving behaviours with a focus on safe driving, they not only make the roads a safer place for everyone, they also can reduce costs that arise from collisions, claims, insurance as well as fuel, vehicle maintenance and repair costs.”

Attendance at the webinar is free, and you can register by booking online.
