Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz will both appear at this year’s Company Car in Action – the UK’s premier arrive and drive event.

It will be the first time Volkswagen, the biggest seller into the true fleet market, will be at CCIA since 2007.

Mercedes-Benz has also confirmed that it will be returning to the event after a fantastic show in 2014, taking the total number of manufacturers to 20 so far.

The return of Volkswagen is a massive coup for the event, where fleet operators are able to take unaccompanied drives in the latest cars, which is enjoying its 25th anniversary this year.

Michael O’Shea, head of fleet, Volkswagen (UK), said: “Volkswagen is delighted to be attending this year’s Company Car in Action.

“Visitors to our stand will have the opportunity to see the award-winning new Passat, which features new dynamic styling as well as new engines, safety features and innovative technology.

“There will also be an opportunity to sample our zero-emission cars, the e-Up and e-Golf, which maintain Volkswagen’s reputation for engineering and efficiency.”

Sally Dennis, head of fleet, Mercedes-Benz UK, said: “Mercedes-Benz will be attending CCIA for the third year in a row and we are thrilled to be bringing with us more than 20 vehicles from across our range.

“With our efficient engines, competitive CO2 emissions, great levels of standard equipment and compelling finance offers, this year’s CCIA will give the fleet market a first glance into our latest fleet-focused range.”

Other manufacturers which have so far committed to the event are Alfa Romeo, BMW, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lexus, Mini, Maserati, Peugeot, Renault, Seat, Toyota, Vauxhall and Volvo.

All will be bringing their latest cars to the event, which will feature a number of exclusive first-time drives.

CCIA will take place at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, on June 16 and 17.

As well as unaccompanied driving on four unique and purpose-built test routes - city, off-road, alpine hill and high speed -  all in one location, visitors to this year’s event will be able to view informative displays and services in the exhibition hall as well as take part in a series of industry debates.
