Mercedes-Benz is to offer its plug-in hybrid technology in the C-Class.

The C350 plug-in hybrid is available in both saloon and estate form, with a range of 19 miles in purely electric mode.

Its four-cylinder petrol engine, in conjunction with a powerful electric motor, gives it a total system output of 279 hp and torque of 600 Nm.

Consumption figures of 134.5 mpg are expected, both as a saloon and as an estate, with 48g/km CO2 (49g/km for estate).

The C350 plug-in hybrid will arrive in the UK from Summer 2016.

We will be launching ten new plug-in hybrid models up to 2017.”
