The first quarter of 2014 has been record-breaking for Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK, with registrations of 6,619 - an increase of 12.5% on the same period last year.

The first three months of 2014 is the fifth consecutive quarter with year-on-year growth for vans.

There has been strong demand in particular across two key vehicle segments - Sprinter Chassis, with registrations up 54.5%, and Citan, with registrations up 56.5%.

Parts growth for vans is up 5% on quarter one 2013, with Service 24h roadside recovery response time also increased by 4.9% to 55 minutes.

In addition, service contract sales is at 178% of target, with a major customer in the home delivery sector choosing to enrol the company’s Sprinter vans into the Total Care repair and maintenance programme. This means that 750 additional vans are being brought back into the dealer network.

Steve Bridge, managing director, Mercedes-Benz Vans, said: "The record start to 2014 is testament to the hard work and commitment of a fantastic team."
