Volkswagen Caddy Bluemotion available to order

The Bluemotion edition of the Volkswagen Caddy panel van is available to order from February, with prices starting from £14,600.

Available in short-wheelbase panel van form only, the Caddy BlueMotion is powered by a  1.6-litre TDI common rail direct injection engine that develops 102 PS and 250 Nm of torque.

With fuel prices remaining high, Volkswagen claims the new Caddy BlueMotion’s economy and emissions figures will warm the hearts of operators and fleet managers across the UK.  The new model achieves its remarkable efficiency through aerodynamic body design combined with Volkswagen’s standard Bluemotion Technology features – cruise control, hill-hold assist, start/stop and energy recuperation – plus three additional new Bluemotion design and engineering advancements:

  • 15" Reduced Rolling Resistance Tyres – tyres that reduce friction, and need less effort as they roll, minimise the energy wasted.
  • Reduced Ride Height – lowering the ride height by 27 mm reduces aerodynamic drag.
  • More efficient Engine Control – the reduced gross weight makes improved engine control and revised calibration possible.

The result is a fuel consumption figure of 61.4 mpg (combined) – 11.8 mpg better than the base Caddy. The new model produces CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.

In addition to its advanced fuel-saving features, the new Caddy Bluemotion introduces a number of styling features to differentiate it from the rest of the range.  New multi-spoke 15-inch wheel covers, body-coloured side guard strips and a black and blue coloured trim fabric are particular to the BlueMotion model.
