TomTom Business Solutions saw 38% growth last year with the number of vehicles fitted with its technology increasing from 239,000 in January 2013 to 330,000 in January 2014.

More than 27,000 clients now use TomTom’s fleet management service to manage vehicles driven in more than 60 countries worldwide.

Thomas Schmidt, managing director of TomTom Business Solutions, said:"This year-on-year growth reflects our ongoing success in bringing to market products that offer significant value to companies operating vehicle fleets.

“Through continuous innovation, we have consistently delivered products that enable our customers to make ever smarter business decisions.”

TomTom is set to launch its latest innovation in the first quarter of this year - a product designed to help small businesses take advantage of connected car technology.

The device will plug directly into a vehicle’s OBD port, allowing customers to install it themselves. This means no installation charges, helping to make the device a cost-effective, entry-level track and trace product.
