Transport managers will be kept up-to-date with the latest information from the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) when they attend the 2013 Freight Transport Association’s (FTA) Transport Manager Conferences.

Included within the VOSA address will be the subject of the organisation’s proposals for ‘new ways of working with the industry’, and how transport managers can apply best practice in order to avoid becoming targets of enforcement.

The conferences this year, will aim to keep transport managers ‘ahead of the game’ by providing them with all the latest information and key issues to ensure they are up-to-date.  The varied programme will benefit attendees who will hear first-hand from industry experts, and then be able to measure their operation against others, leaving with the confidence that their business is completely up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

Delegates attending the FTA conference will hear from one of the sponsors of the event – Goodyear will be reporting on their recent Transport Manager Survey which will outline the role within the road freight sector providing a better understanding of challenges faced on a day-to-day basis.

Adam Stanton, Commercial Marketing Manager said:

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the FTA Transport Manager series for the third year in a row. With the series focusing on delivering safe, sustainable and efficient logistics it is the perfect opportunity for us to show how Goodyear helps fleets to deliver in these three areas. We are also using the events to highlight how tyres can help to not only improve the efficiency of fleets in terms of fuel usage and environmental impact, but also assist in delivering a reduction in operational cost.”

Attendees will also be given the opportunity to take part in an interactive quiz session compiled by FTA’s Member Advice Centre (MAC), which will focus on compliance issues faced by transport managers on a daily basis.

FTA policy experts will also be on hand at each conference to deliver essential updates providing delegates with guidance and best practice advice surrounding future legislation and enforcement changes

The Transport Manager series will be on the road throughout the UK from September to December 2013.
