Fraikin has acquired more than 400 new commercial vehicles to replenish and expand its nationwide rental fleet.

The refreshment and expansion of the fleet has been undertaken to meet the demands of Fraikin's increasing customer base and to support future company growth objectives.

The rental fleet provides a broad level of vehicle variety and flexibility to cover Fraikin's customer requirements ranging from 3.5 tonne vans, through the full range of rigid and curtainside rigids to tractor units and highly specialist vehicles.

Peter Backhouse, CEO of Fraikin, said: “This continues our investment plans which also include new technologies, depots, and equipment, all of which are targeted to provide our customers with the very best service experience.

"Our rental fleet is often the first point of contact our customers have with us and it is important that we supply a modern, clean, reliable, and suitable vehicle for their needs."

The new vehicles include 220 MAN vehicles from the TGX, TGM, TGL and TGS ranges, including 7.5 tonne, 18 tonne and 26 tonne rigids and a further 100 tractor units.

In addition, 135 Mercedes-Benz Atego 7.5 tonne rigid boxes with tailifts, 35 Iveco EuroCargo and 10 Renault Midlum boxes split across a 7.5 tonne and 18 tonne weight ranges have been purchased.

The new fleet includes both dry and refrigerated vehicle derivatives as Fraikin seeks to meet market demand.
