Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the refreshed version of its E-Class AMG, with a more agressive look and an option to choose a higher performance variant.

The E63 AMG saloon produces 557bhp with acceleration from 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds, while the 585bhp S model achieves the same benchmark in 3.6 seconds. The estate version, which is only available as an S, takes 3.7 seconds.

The car uses a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 engine and, depending on model, achieves between 26.9 and 28.0mpg on the combiend cycle.

All E-Class AMG variants have CO2 emissions of 230g/km or higher with prices expected to start at about £75,000.
