Renault has unveiled the fourth-generation Clio at its home motor show in Paris, with a lower, more purposeful stance and improved aerodynamics.
The company also showed the estate version alongsidde a new Renaultsport model that uses a turbocharged engine to deliver improved performance over the outgoing model with better efficiency.
The Clio estate will also be more practical than the previous version with a longer rear overhang creating more boot space.
The Clio range will be offered with a new, highly efficient three-cylinder petrol engine, as well as a 90bhp diesel expected to achieve almost 90mpg and 85g/km of CO2. Renault's 120bhp 1.6 dCi will also be offered in the Clio.
The Clio Renaultsport priduced 200bhp from a turbo-charged 1.6-litre engine, giving the same power output as the outgoing version, but with higher torque developed at lower revs, and is offered only with a dual cluth automatic transmission.
