Aston Barclay has further cemented its on-going investment in the north of England with the appointment of Craig Welborn as its Business Development Director.

The 31-year-old who will be based out of the company’s Leeds auction centre, will focus on bringing new customers to Aston Barclay’s sites at Prees Heath in Shropshire and at Leeds.

Reporting directly to managing director Glenn Scarborough, Welborn, who has worked in the automotive sector for 10 years, will spearhead the new business sales drive alongside general manager Lisa Grimsley.

Commenting on the post, Scarborough said: “Craig is a significant appointment for the business, he brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to the newly created role.”

He added: “Leeds has been fully operational since May and has quickly established itself as an efficient auction centre offering a high quality and personal service to our buyers and sellers. The next phase of our development is to increase the number of customers using our facility and Craig is instrumental to this process.”

Welborn said: “Aston Barclay has a rich heritage and joining a new division is extremely exciting. Aston Barclay Leeds establishes the company as a truly national car auction operation and I aim to capitalise on that.”
