Škoda offered 15 fleet customers the exclusive opportunity to attend the biggest annual sporting event in the world, to celebrate its long-term partnership with the Tour de France.

Škoda Fleet Sales invited customers to enjoy a VIP Tour de France experience, riding alongside the peloton in a Škoda Superb estate support car before getting up close to the action, watching a race stage with full hospitality. Guests then had the opportunity to witness the remainder of the stage from the best seats in town as they took off in a helicopter to follow the day’s action from the air.

As a sponsor of the Tour de France for the ninth consecutive year, Škoda provided the organisers with 110 support vehicles ranging from the recently launched Citigo to the flagship Superb Estate. The manufacturer also sponsored the White Jersey for the best under-25 year old cyclist; presented by the company’s CEO, Prof. Vahland, to the 23 year old American cyclist, Tejay Van Garderen on the final podium.

Martin Burke, Head of Fleet Sales for Škoda said: "Our vehicles are ideal for use as support cars; they are reliable, well-engineered and spacious, and withstand the wear and tear that comes with such a fast-paced sport.

"We’re really proud to be involved in such a great event and thrilled that a Brit lifted the trophy on Sunday’s podium."

Škoda has a long association with cycling, with the company’s heritage dating back to 1895 when its founders began manufacturing bicycles in their hometown of Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic.
