Fleet news logo

Volkswagen has introduced BlueMotion and BlueMotion Technology models across the Transporter panel van, kombi and people carrier ranges offering lower running costs, improved fuel economy and lower emissions.

The BlueMotion model a 2.0-litre 114 PS TDI turbocharged engine with a combined fuel economy of 44.8 mpg and emissions of 166 g/km it has a potential range of over 780 miles on a single tank of fuel.  These figures represent a 7.1 mpg improvement in combined fuel economy, and a 32 g/km reduction in emissions compared to the standard 84 PS or 102 PS TDI model.

BlueMotion Technology models also offer significant savings in fuel bills, and are available with two 2.0-litre TDI engines offering power outputs of 84 PS and 114 PS.  The 84 PS BlueMotion Technology model has a combined fuel economy of 40.4 mpg, an improvement of 2.7 mpg over the standard model, giving a potential of nearly 50 miles further per tank of fuel and a range of over 710 miles.

The efficiency of the BlueMotion Technology models is achieved by using low rolling resistance tyres, Stop/Start and battery regeneration systems as well as cruise control.  The BlueMotion model also has a tyre pressure warning light to avoid tyres becoming under-inflated and increasing fuel consumption.

Transporter BlueMotion and BlueMotion Technology models are available with prices starting from £18,770 (plus VAT) and £17,290 (plus VAT) respectively.
