Frampton Transport Services' Richard Fry has been elected the Road Haulage Association's new national chairman.

"To be national chairman of the UK's leading body representing the road freight industry is a tremendous honour", said Fry. "I am under no illusion that this is going to be an easy ride.

“New regulations, changes to the current legislation, soaring fuel prices, these are just a few of the obstacles thrown at us on what seems like a daily basis. But I, together with my fellow Board members and dedicated RHA staff, will ensure that the voice of the UK haulier will always be heard.

"I would like to pay me own personal respects to the outgoing chairman, Andy Boyle, who has led the association through a very difficult time. Andy will be a very hard act to follow but I can assure members that I, together with the RHA's newly-elected vice chairman Peter Barber, will continue to maintain the very high standards that have already been set and will endeavour to keep the needs of this industry at the top of the political agenda.”
