As part of its continued European expansion plans, Fleet Logistics, has restructured the management of its Nordic operation and appointed UK and international business development director, Stuart Donnelly, as commercial director with responsibility for all four countries in the region.

Donnelly, who has been with Fleet Logistics for the last four years, will be responsible for all operations and commercial activities in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, and will be based at Fleet Logistics’ regional head office in Malmo, Sweden.

Fleet Logistics manages around 5,000 cars on behalf of international corporate customers across the region, a small but growing proportion of its total portfolio of over 80,000 vehicles, and has plans to double the Nordic fleet within as short a time frame as possible.

Donnelly replaces Ulf Wirkland, previous regional head who has left the business, and has already made two new appointments, with promotions for Elisabeth Ivarsson and Katharina Muller who take joint responsibility for managing operations in all four countries.

Ivarsson becomes head of operations, customer service and vehicle management and Muller is appointed head of operations, fleet accounting and reporting, reporting to Donnelly.

At the same time, new offices will be opened in the Finnish capital, Helsinki to support large international customers in that country.

“I have enjoyed four very successful years with Fleet Logistics as UK and then International Business Development Director and have a further 12 years’ experience within the fleet management sector,” said Donnelly.

“When I joined Fleet Logistics, the UK fleet size was just 3,500 vehicles, while today it is over 15,000. I therefore hope I can bring a wealth of relevant experience to the role of leading and growing Fleet Logistics in the Nordic region.

“As I gradually ease into my new role over the next six months, due to the extended support from Elisabeth and Katharina, I will have sufficient bandwidth to increase our footprint in the Nordics by opening an additional office in Finland in support of our large international clients.

“In my new capacity as commercial director Nordics AB, I will be responsible for all aspects of the business and will seek to help expand the business to meet our target fleet size in as short a time frame as possible,” he said.

Fleet Logistics’ chief executive officer Peter Soliman said: “We see considerable growth opportunities within the four main countries of the Nordic region, where there are some large multi-national organisations domiciled in the region.

“We believe that a new management team, led with energy and determination by Stuart, will have the capability to achieve and deliver on our expansion plans for the region and for the business as a whole, and we wish him all possible success.”
