Fraikin has signed a new sole commercial vehicle supplier status with commercial butchers Fairfax Meadow.

The new contract will see Fraikin supply Fairfax Meadow with 16 additional assets, plus the renewal of two others, supplementing the existing 61 vans and trucks it already supplies.

The latest deal builds upon a 15-year relationship with the supply of a range of new dual temperature vehicles that each meet Euro VI emissions standards, including 10 3.5-tonne Iveco Daily light commercials, featuring the new 8-speed Hi-Matic automated gearbox; three 7.5-tonne DAF trucks; a 26-tonne DAF truck; and one 44-tonne DAF tractor and trailer unit. The deal also includes the renewal of a further two DAF tractors.

Fairfax Meadow has been supplying premium quality meat for more than 40 years. The company delivers a full range of products across the country – from local pubs and hotels, through to high street burger chains and P&O Cruise liners. With strict delivery targets, Fairfax Meadow needs its vehicles operational at all times.

The full service contract hire deal provided by Fraikin ensures this is possible by covering all servicing, maintenance and repairs, with like-for-like vehicle replacements supplied in the unlikely event of any unplanned downtime.

Fairfax Meadow’s national transport manager, David Dearle, said: “It’s great to have Fraikin back covering our full fleet. Its professional approach to our business requirements is something you don’t find everywhere. Fraikin knows what we need and always ensures it is able to provide it.”

The company’s commercial vehicles are spread across nine locations throughout the UK and on the road seven days a week.

Fairfax Meadow typically replaces its light commercials after three years, while the larger trucks would be replaced after four years or more, depending on their mileage and condition.

“We need the level of support Fraikin offers because our vehicles are used so intensively. The peace of mind this gives us can’t be understated. We know we only have to make one phone call to Fraikin and any problem will be sorted – which keeps our fleet on the road and our customers happy,” added Dearle.
